Beginning Letter Sounds Promethean ActivInspire Flipchart Lesson

Your students will have tons of fun learning all about beginning letter sounds with this interactive and engaging Promethean ActivInspire Flipchart Lesson. 

This lesson has several interactive activities. In the first four activities the students pull a die out of a hat and match it to the corresponding letter (for letter identification) according to the key. An answer key is provided. 

In another set of activities, the students must match the beginning sound/letter with the corresponding picture. If they get it right, it will play a sound. If they get it incorrect, the puzzle piece goes back to its original position. 

Another set of activities included in this flipchart is a list of pictures and a letter maze. The students have to click on the picture with the correct beginning letter sound. If they do so, the letter maze will open up for them to complete up at the Promethean Activboard. If they get it wrong, the picture with reveal an x, letting them know they need to choose again. 

Another set of fun activities includes an alphabet maze. The students can use the pencil tool in Activinspire to alphabetically put the letters in order to help them reach the finish line of the maze. 

There is a formative assessment quiz/check at the end of this Promethean Activinspire Flipchart Lesson. You can use activotes/activexpressions if you have them or you can just have your students use whiteboards. The questions ask which picture begins with the letter...... and they have to choose the correct answer out of the choices A, B, C, or D.

Google Docs Digital Task Cards

Many of you may already know how to do this, but it was a trick that was fun for me to learn.  I created this set of Elementary Math Word Problems in Google Docs that act like Digital Task Cards. 

Each section of colors represents a different word problem strategy.  Send the link to your students and have them either do one section at a time, the first 4 of each, or even have them work on all of the word problems at their own pace. 

Send the link to your students. (CLICK HERE TO GET THE LINK)  They click on a number and the number will take them to a question (word problem).  Then, they use the recording sheets (CLICK HERE FOR THOSE) to record their answers.  This way they are working digitally, but also have to show their work on paper.  An answer key is provided at the end of the document for your ease of grading.

Five Senses Sorting for Pre-K and Kindergarten Students

Here's an activity your littles will be sure to enjoy!  This 13 page resource comes with 5 mats that you laminate and 30 cards that you cut out (5 for each of the senses) - SIGHT, SOUND, TASTE, SMELL, AND TOUCH.  Students look at the picture and word on the card and decide which of the five senses categories that it belongs in and place it on the correct mat.  

You could start out with 12 cards and two mats, or give your students all 30.  This game/activity is best played in pairs when you use the full 30 cards!
